MYERSVILLE, MD – November 2, 2011 – Musket Ridge Golf Club is proud to be the host venue of a new tournament for the LPGA Symetra Tour called the Challenge at Musket Ridge. The event will be held August 20-26, 2012. Musket Ridge and the Symetra Tour are partnering with the Frederick County Commission for Women (FCCW) to run the event.
On November 1, the Challenge at Musket Ridge was announced at a launch party at the Delaplaine in Frederick, MD. Symetra Tour CEO Zayra Calderon, Tour player and Maryland native Marlowe Boukis, Maryland State Delegate Kelly Schulz, President of Hood College Ronald Volpe, PhD and Board of Alderman members Michael O'Connor and Kelly Russell were among the dignitaries in attendance.
Damon DeVito, managing director of Affinity Management, which runs Musket Ridge, said, “In these times we need more economic activity, more charity and more fun. This event will bring all three to this area including over $350k in economic impact. Musket Ridge is honored to have been selected by the Symetra Tour to host this event.”
